Completely Change Your Life With a Planner

So many of us have bought a planner or two before.  We typically have the best intentions when we buy our first or next planner but how long do we keep using them?

Sure, we start out writing in them each day and feeling great about it, but so many of us give up on them after a while.  Maybe it’s because we forget after some time to write in them.  Maybe something upsets our life and we don’t have the time or the energy to get back to it.  Or it might be that you just don’t have the right planner to fit your needs.

I understand all of these reasons.

We forget because it didn’t pique our interest to continue. We give up because life threw a curveball and we just don’t have the time or energy to write in a planner. And finding the right planner does take time.

It’s Never Too Late

Many times in life we don’t get it right the first or second time and that’s okay.  Whatever your reason for giving up, it’s never too late to try again.

I know the benefits of planners and also know once you find the right planning system that fits your needs, you will love it.  They are extremely helpful during the wrong times in your life and the right ones.

It’s hard to stay focused and to keep moving forward when your life is spinning around in circles.  But in my own life, I can keep focused and move forward during the craziest times in my life when I have the right planning systems in place.

Here are my reasons why I think planners are so important in everyone’s life.

Keeps Us Organized

Life can be crazy no matter who we are or what we do.  You might be juggling 50 balls in the air at any given time and it’s a wonder you get through your day.  But ask yourself, how productive was your day?

Between appointments, kids schoolwork or projects, meals at dinnertime, things you have going on at work, and a home that needs to be cleaned and yet you are supposed to remember all of that in your head???

It’s no wonder you’re stressed and overwhelmed.

Planners keep things organized for us.  They show us what we need to be doing each day and for the week.  Everything is in one place.

Your home and your life are more organized. There are no missed appointments, no wasting time at work because you don’t know what to be working on, and dinner is on the table every night because you planned for it all.

Helps with Tracking

The great thing about planners is that they can fit everyone’s needs.  You can track anything you want in a planner to reach your goals.  Your weight, water intake each day, how many steps you’ve walked.  All of these things and many more can be tracked to show how you are doing.

It’s hard to remember a day later or a week later how you did with drinking water. But when you track it, you’ll remember how many glasses of water you drank 4 days ago and how you are doing for the week. It keeps us accountable for things we are trying to accomplish.

Keeps Us Focused

They show us what’s important in our life at any current moment. Whether you choose to be focused on your goals, focused on your weight loss, or a host of anything you can possibly think of, it’s a constant reminder of what’s important to us. And this allows us to keep moving forward.

Reminds Us of Our Goals

When we set our big, long-term goals, we have something to shoot for.  With planners, you can write down your long-term goals and then narrow them down to your shorter, monthly goals.  These smaller goals are what move you toward your big goals.

When we see these every day, in the same place, we know what we are working toward.

Keeps Us Engaged and Purposeful

When our thoughts and our commitments are written in one place, we are more engaged with what is going on in our life. We’ll live a more purposeful life. We know what needs to get done and there’s no time spent wondering what we should be doing next.

Keeps Us Motivated

This is a big one for me. I am so easily distracted but when I purposefully write down my daily tasks and remind myself daily what my small goals are, that keeps me motivated. I want to accomplish my goals and seeing those goals pushes me to work harder. It keeps me motivated.

The Right Planner

So tell me, did you ever think you might not know the right way to plan your days and your weeks?  Maybe the reason you can’t seem to get a planner working for you is you’re going about it all wrong.  The problem is, most times we think about our week ahead and then we just add things to our planner as we think of them.  This is fine but it’s so easy to forget something.

Now, if you did a brain dump and then organized your list in an orderly fashion, so you can map out how you’re going to manage the week ahead, will give you the structure to getting things done.

And I have some good news for you.  I have all the ways to do this in my Conquer the Crazy Toolkit.  This toolkit will show you how to find clarity on what’s important to you, give you the steps to organize your schedule, and lead you into a more peaceful life.

Now, I don’t know about you but spinning my wheels and getting frustrated by my lack of structure in my day doesn’t sound like a good use of my time. Get the organization and focus you need to rock your schedule every day by getting my Conquer the Crazy Toolkit.
